I’m a writer and translator, gradually trying to tip the balance in favour of writing.
I recently finished working on a novel, Summers With My Father (once known as the Depressing Literary Novel), and have started sending it out into the world. I’ve had various short stories published and shortlisted for awards, including winning this lovely competition in 2016. I’ve bottom-drawered two young adult fantasy novels (I love them, but they’ll never be good enough to see the light of day. I’m fine with that). And I’m now having fun with my next novel.
When not writing, I can be found being slightly obsessive about music, or reading widely but not indiscriminately. Activism is important to me; my opinion the personal is still political. But being an anxious activist and an anxious writer makes for a pretty challenging life sometimes, and I’m starting to post more openly about that.
I generally post once every two weeks, usually on Fridays.
You’ve already made me laugh (aka the depressing literary novel.) Thanks. I look forward to reading your books.

Thanks. 🙂 Haha, the DLN really is extremely depressing, though!
